The Empty Stage & Stan Wells
The Waterbrains, under the direction of Stan Wells were originally a house group at the Empty Stage of West LA. Over the course of nearly a decade, the Waterbrains dazzled with amazing feats of comedy genius, intricacy, cohesiveness and speed. And these are not even their words.
They are the words of Stan Wells, their director.
Stan Wells
Stan, a former director at The Groundlings, and mainstay of the improv scene in Los Angeles, was teaching little improv fledglings in the Pacific Northwest, and has recently returned to LA. Check out his advanced drop-in classes at stanwellsimprov.com
Stan has also been the director of the world-famous Transformers, who you may also see at the Westside Ecclectic, or Fanatic Salon, most likely in a double-bill with Waterbrains.
The Empty Stage Improv Comedy Theater
Our beloved theater home, founded by Stan Wells, closed its doors in March of 2008.
